Some time ago I wrote about how to help people perform better, if they were struggling, by exploring elements of their being that are less obvious, that are “unseen”. In relation to the metaphor of an iceberg, these are elements of the person that lie beneath the surface of the water.
I have discovered the following video of a TED talk by Dr Alan Watkins, which explains this nicely and includes an additional element which he is clearly expert in, namely, human physiology and how the body reacts especially under pressure and what that does for your ability to perform at a high level.
